Awhile I back I posted images of Eleanor Davis' wonderful Witch House sculpture -- marveling at her incredible ingenuity. So I was really happy to see that it has been included in a much larger exhibition of Hansel and Gretel art at the Gallery Met, in combination with the upcoming premièr of Englebert Humperdink's new opera "Hansel and Gretel" at the New York Metropolitan Opera. The New Yorker magazine has posted a collection of images from the show which you can see here. The photograph above is by William Wegman -- whose weimaraners seem to delight in dressing up. (I have to say I love their velvety gray coats. They are always so elegant looking.) This image is one of a triptych. The show runs through February so I am hoping I might actually get a chance to see the exhibit.
I'd also like to recommend having a look at the beautiful work of Ana Juan, whose two pieces are posted below.
