This is a revision of my post from yesterday concerning the four (very troubled) young men from east Texas who thought it was good sport to drive around at night and shoot people's dogs. Among the many errors they committed was shooting SEAL hero Marcus Luttrell's dog, Dasy, who has been his constant companion in his rehabilitation for wounds received during a mission that saw the death of his three teammates, and 16 SEALs and support crew who tried to rescue him. Luttrell chased them down in his truck and held them at gunpoint until they were arrested by Texas Rangers -- where upon these boys foolishly threatened to return and kill Luttrell. Michael Edmonds, one of the four, managed to escape and no doubt after seeing his face spread all over the internet, turned himself in and is now released on bond.
Research indicates that young men who take pleasure in killing innocent animals often upgrade to humans beings. And these men are currently under investigation for their participation in other recent dog shootings and immolations. So I would ask you to consider signing this petition from the International SPCA that urges the Texas courts to prosecute these men to fullest extent of the law.
And on a side note that is one of the quirks of the internet, I would like to welcome the Texas Bowhunter discussion forum -- who found my post yesterday and linked it in their discussion thread. I am not sure our paths would have crossed otherwise (although my husband is a longbow hunter -- so who knows?).
